Privacy Policy for OtterSlide Accounting

OtterSlide Accounting ("the add-on") is a Google Sheets add-on that connects to your QuickBooks Online account to import General Ledger and Chart of Accounts data into your own Google Sheet, and to build financial statement models from that data.

What data we access

With your explicit authorization, the add-on connects to your QuickBooks Online company and reads:

  • General Ledger transaction detail

  • Chart of Accounts

  • Company preferences needed to match your QuickBooks report settings (e.g., cash vs. accrual basis)

The add-on does not create, modify, or delete anything in your QuickBooks company. It only reads data.

Where your data goes

All data the add-on retrieves from QuickBooks is written directly into your own Google Sheet. It is not sent to, stored on, or processed by any server we operate — there is no backend server for this add-on. The only parties involved are:

  • Google, which hosts the Google Sheets/Apps Script infrastructure the add-on runs on

  • Intuit, which provides the QuickBooks Online API the add-on connects to

We never sell your data, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising.

What we store, and where

To maintain your connection between uses, the add-on stores the following in your own private Google account storage (not shared with other users of the add-on, and not accessible to us):

  • Your QuickBooks OAuth access and refresh tokens

  • Your QuickBooks Company (Realm) ID

  • Sync progress checkpoints, so a large sync can resume if interrupted

This storage is scoped per Google Sheet, so connecting one spreadsheet to a QuickBooks company has no effect on any other spreadsheet.

Your control

You can disconnect QuickBooks at any time from the add-on's menu (Extensions → Row1Column1 → Connect QuickBooks Account → Disconnect). Disconnecting immediately deletes the stored tokens and company ID for that spreadsheet.

Data retention

Tokens are retained only until you disconnect, uninstall the add-on, or your QuickBooks refresh token expires from prolonged inactivity (per Intuit's own token expiration policy).

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this same URL.
