Terms of Service and End User License Agreement

Last updated November 2, 2026. These terms apply when you use our website or install and use the OtterSlide Accounting add-on.

These Terms of Service and End User License Agreement ("Terms") are an agreement between you and OtterSlide Accounting ("OtterSlide," "we," or "us"). They cover your use of our website at otterslideaccounting.com and of the OtterSlide Accounting add-on and related services (together, the "Service"). By installing, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using it on behalf of a company, you confirm that you have the authority to bind that company. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

License to use the add-on

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the OtterSlide add-on for your own internal business budgeting and accounting purposes, for as long as your free trial or subscription is active. This license doesn't give you ownership of OtterSlide, only the right to use it under these Terms.

Our Privacy Policy explains how your data is handled, and it is part of this agreement.

Who can use OtterSlide

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract, and you must use the Service for business purposes. To use the add-on you need an active QuickBooks Online account and a Google account with access to Google Sheets. You are responsible for those accounts, for keeping your sign-in details secure, and for activity that happens through the accounts you connect.

Free trial, subscription, and billing

Your 14-day free trial starts automatically the first time you sync your financial data, and it covers one QuickBooks company. No payment method is needed to try OtterSlide. Each company, and each Google account, can start another trial a while after the last one ended. If you are not yet eligible, the add-on tells you the date you can start again.

After the trial, OtterSlide costs $25 a month or $250 a year for each QuickBooks company, used from one Google account, at the price shown on our Pricing page when you subscribe. You buy from otterslideaccounting.com and enter the activation code we give you in your workbook. Payments are handled by our payment provider. Fees are non-refundable, except where the law requires otherwise, and prices exclude any taxes that apply. We will give you advance notice before a price change takes effect.

You can update your payment details, switch between monthly and annual, or cancel from your billing portal. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the period you have paid for. If your subscription or trial ends, your workbook stays yours and you can still read it as an ordinary spreadsheet.

Acceptable use

Please use the Service only for its intended purpose. You agree not to:

  • use the Service in a way that breaks the law or the rights of others;
  • try to get into accounts, data, or systems you are not authorized to use;
  • interfere with, overload, or disrupt the Service or the connections it relies on;
  • reverse-engineer, decompile, copy, or resell the Service, or try to extract its source code, except where the law allows it;
  • upload malicious code or use automated tools to scrape the website; or
  • process data you do not have the right to process, or break the terms of QuickBooks, Intuit, or Google while using OtterSlide.

Your data

You keep all rights to your financial and business data. You give us permission to access, process, and display data from your connected QuickBooks Online and Google Sheets accounts only as needed to provide the Service. OtterSlide only reads your QuickBooks transactions; the only thing it writes to QuickBooks is a P&L budget, and only when you ask it to. You are responsible for having the right to connect that data, including any data that belongs to your own clients. See our Privacy Policy for what we collect and how it is protected.

Budgeting help, not professional advice

OtterSlide is a budgeting and forecasting tool. Forecasts, categories, and reports are estimates based on the data you connect. They are not accounting, tax, legal, or financial advice. Please check important figures and talk to a qualified professional before making major financial decisions.

Third-party services

OtterSlide works with QuickBooks Online and Google Sheets, and is installed from Google Workspace Marketplace. Those services belong to Intuit and Google, and their own terms apply to them. We do not control them, and changes or outages on their side can affect how the Service works. QuickBooks and Intuit are trademarks of Intuit Inc. Google, Google Sheets, and Google Workspace are trademarks of Google LLC. Their names are used here only to describe what OtterSlide works with.

Our content and branding

We own the Service, the website, and the OtterSlide name, otter logo, and design. These Terms do not give you any ownership in them. You may use the Service as described in these Terms. If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them to improve OtterSlide without owing you anything.

Changes to the Service

We may add, change, or remove features, and we may pause the Service for maintenance. If we make a change that materially affects what you are paying for, we will tell you in advance where we reasonably can.

No warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We work to keep syncs and forecasts accurate, but we do not promise that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any report will be correct. Decisions you make using the Service remain your responsibility.

Limit on our liability

To the fullest extent the law permits, OtterSlide and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including lost profits or lost data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you in full.

Your responsibility for claims

You agree to cover claims, losses, and costs that arise from your misuse of the Service, from your breaking these Terms, or from data you connect without the right to do so.

Ending your use

You can stop using the Service at any time by cancelling as described above. We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms or if a connected QuickBooks or Google account is no longer valid. Parts of these Terms that are meant to continue, such as those about payment, liability, and disputes, will continue after your access ends.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as OtterSlide grows. If a change materially affects your rights, we will email the address on your account before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which OtterSlide Accounting is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Before starting a formal claim, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally.

General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are our entire agreement with you about the Service. If part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. If we do not enforce a right right away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms without our written consent.
