Your data, handled plainly.

Last updated November 2, 2026. This page explains what OtterSlide collects, why, and how it's protected.

What we collect

To do its job, OtterSlide connects to your QuickBooks Online company and works inside a Google Sheet you open. From QuickBooks, we read your transactions and chart of accounts and copy them into your workbook. We also keep the basic details needed to run your subscription, such as the Google account you use, your subscription status, and which QuickBooks companies are covered.

What we don't do

OtterSlide only reads your QuickBooks transactions; it never changes them. The only thing it ever writes to QuickBooks is a P&L budget, and only when you ask it to. We will never ask for your QuickBooks password, your Google password or your card number.

How your data is protected

You connect to QuickBooks through QuickBooks' own sign-in and approve access yourself, and you can remove that access at any time. The financial data OtterSlide copies lives in your own Google Sheet, so who can see it is controlled by your Google sharing settings. Payments are handled by our payment provider.

How long we keep it

Your workbook is yours. If you cancel, nothing on it is removed, and you can still read it as an ordinary spreadsheet. If you come back, you pick up where you left off.

Your choices

Choose Disconnect from QuickBooks to stop access; everything already in your sheet stays. If QuickBooks can't confirm, remove OtterSlide Budgeting in QuickBooks under My Integrations. You can reconnect any time. To ask about your data, email support@otterslideaccounting.com.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is used, we'll email the address on your account before the change takes effect.
